Ring Sizes and Species List

The following listrepresents the majority (but not all) birds of prey.
 
The list shows the bird's common name, scientific name, and the ring size for the male and the female. The size of the ring is indicated by the internal diameter in millimeters, where a safe allowance has been given to prevent any rubbing and friction. These are the 'proven' commercial sizes, however, if your bird has larger than normal legs, we can issue oversize rings.
 
When fitting a closed ring on a young bird, please make sure that it is fitted with the letters and numbers the correct way up: ie - so that the ring marking can be read when the bird is standing.  
 
When fitting a split ring, make sure that it is fitted above any foot furniture on the bird, and never locate two rings on the same leg.
